Kamakura - Historical Capital of Japan - Feel Good World Trip

Kamakura - Historical Capital of Japan

12/29/2016

Kamakura was the capital of Japan from 1192 to 1333. Although it is small it has had a considerable impact on the Japanese culture. Traditions are still alive here and respectively provided for tourists.

My favourite Japanese sweets: Dango (basically rice flour). One of the best in Japan are sold here in Kamakura.
A specialty for Kamakura: Shirasu (Whitebait).

Usually Japanese keep their natural hair colour, but sometimes you can find women (mostly of an respective age) with amazing hair dyeings.
Hachimangu Shrine - The most important shrine of Kamakura

One of the six classic Japanese marriage styles: Shinzenshiki (Shinto style ceremony)

Wooden wishing plaques (Ema) next to the Shrine
